The whole reception, one album
Replace the disposable cameras on every table. Guests scan the QR at the place card, capture limited shots, and the couple gets every angle of the night without a single forgotten upload.
Filmly is a smartphone app and web companion for weddings, birthdays, parties, trips, and any event where the room would rather take photos together than spam a group chat. Guests join by scanning a QR code — no install needed on the web — capture a small number of intentional shots, and nothing develops until the event ends. At the reveal moment, the entire album opens to everyone at once, often on a big-screen TV at the venue with a live countdown and fireworks animation.
The result is the only group photo album anyone actually opens back up after the night ends — because the album is the night.
Hosts sign in on the web or app and create an event in three taps. Name, cover photo (built-in library or upload your own), shot count per guest (8 / 12 / 24), and when the album should develop — instantly, when the event ends, or at a specific moment for dramatic effect.
Guests scan the QR — works in any phone browser, zero installs. They set a nickname and start shooting. The shot count enforces intention: no one chimps the screen, because there's nothing to review. Just the moment.
Open the big-screen URL on any TV or laptop at the venue. A live countdown ticks down, the sound design escalates (gentle heartbeat → urgent → peak), and at zero — fireworks, a chord cadence, and every photo unlocks at once. AI Reel renders an MP4 in the background so everyone leaves with a memento.
Filmly works anywhere a group of people would rather remember the moment together than text it to each other.
Filmly takes the scarcity + ceremony of disposable-camera apps and the collaborative nature of shared photo albums, and adds something neither has: a synchronised reveal moment on a big screen.

I've been to too many weddings where the "wedding hashtag" ended up with three blurry sky photos and an ad for a sandwich shop. Filmly is the photo album I wanted at my best friend's wedding — one place where every guest's shots live, where you actually feel the night a year later when you scroll back through it.

Free for events up to 8 guests, always. Bigger events are a one-time purchase — the only thing that changes is how many guests can join. Same reveal, same AI Reel, no subscription.
No. Guests can scan the QR code with any phone camera and the web flow opens in their browser. They set a nickname and start shooting immediately. The native iOS / Android app is only needed if a guest wants offline capture, film-stock filters, or to keep the album on their device for later.
The photo uploads to the cloud immediately but stays invisible to everyone except the host until the reveal moment. The host can also enable host-moderation, which holds every photo for approval before it joins the album.
Yes, until the reveal. After the reveal the host has full control (can hide or delete any photo) and guests can request deletion of their own shots.
Open filmly.us/display/?code=YOUR_CODE on any TV or laptop at the venue (Chrome, Safari, Edge — anything with a modern browser). The page is full-screen, runs a live countdown, plays a soundscape that escalates as the clock approaches zero, and at reveal moment fires a fireworks animation and starts an auto-slideshow.
The native iOS / Android app captures photos offline and syncs as soon as a connection is available. Guests using the web flow need a working connection for each shot, but the upload retries gracefully if the signal blips during a single shot.
Only people who joined the event. Each guest gets a JWT scoped to that specific event — they can't see other events' photos even if they guess the URL. The big-screen display is read-only and bound to the same JWT mechanism.
Yes — on every tier. Hosts and guests can save full-resolution photos to their device, and Filmly auto-renders a shareable MP4 Reel of the event that anyone can download. Paid tiers only raise the guest cap — they never lock features behind a paywall.
Yes. When the event ends, an MP4 reel is generated server-side that picks the best moments (using AI scoring for sharpness + face engagement + variety) and stitches them with music. The reel auto-renders in the background — hosts get a push notification when it's ready.
Ten at launch: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian. The app auto-detects the device language and can be overridden in Settings.
Shared albums are passive buckets — nobody opens them again after the event. Filmly enforces scarcity (limited shots per guest) and synchronises the reveal moment, so the album itself becomes an event. The big-screen display turns the moment of "everyone seeing the album for the first time" into a shared experience instead of a private scroll.
Free for 8-guest events. 30 seconds to create, a lifetime to look back.
